Rest In Power

I imagine you rippin' through the fucking spacetime continuum on a rocket powered custom '31 at 1.21 gigawatts(!!!) with a sweet babe by your side you call darlin', a cold Bud heavy and a ghetto blaster cranking Waylon, Marvin or Wu...those chunky vintage Versace shades, a dirty white tee, paint stained jeans and black ostrich boots. We all know when you reach Paradise, you'll be coming in caliente....so give the basstad watching the gate one of your hugs and then tell him to go fuck himself...laugh that fucking deep contagious soul grabbing laugh...and hold a spot for me, and the rest of the homies from VA to LA, AUS, New Zealand and back.

....you didn't meet Dave, you experienced him. In a world full of Johns and Janes, he was a lighting bolt on a chain...one of the originals...not your bullshit one in a millions, literally one in a million...who told the world to go fuck itself, in the most endearing way possible, and fiercely pursued authentic expression as a craftsman, artist and friend. You rarely meet people like him, because people don't have the balls to live/love so openly, to risk, to reinvent, to fail and explore. His soul was too righteous for this world. His heart too full.  I can't count how many artists, friends, and strangers he connected...how many solids and favors he hooked up...he'd do just about anything for the homies...or the homies homie. He rarely asked much of anybody, he took pride in taking care of his own, he only asked for respect, and dually gave his. He didn't make apologies for who he was, he didn't need to. His heart was etched into his skin for the world to see. If he loved you, you knew it. If you were lucky enough to call him a friend, for Dave you were likely more than that, you were his brutha.

So much of Dave's loyalty, heart, work ethic, genuineness, and craftsmanship came from his amazing parents. If Dave touched as many hearts as I thought he did, please consider reaching out to touch theirs...and let them know how BIG an impact the son they raised had on us all.

Rest in Power you fucking LazerGun Lord...I'll miss your inspiration, our creative conversations, and all those sayings/words/blessings your crazy ass came up with. LA, America, and the World won't be the same without you. I miss you so much already. "Mucho take it easy" 🙏🏼  "Werd to the words"
